About the Project

Launched in November 2018, LEDGER (DecentraLizEd Data Governance for nExt geneRation internet) is a mission-oriented project to bring citizens back control over their data.

LEDGER promotes alternative models where data is a common good owned by citizens and wealth created by data-driven platforms is equally distributed. The Project supports Research and Innovation projects addressing: Privacy-by-design, reliability, trustworthiness and openness as core values.

LEDGER supports organisations and  teams of developers, researchers and entrepreneurs taking research contributions and decentralized technologies to develop Minimum Viable Products.

How are we doing it:

LEDGER is reaching its vision by implementing an ambitious programme, which consists of:
  • A mission-oriented Strategic Research and Innovation work programme
  • Pan-European attraction of outstanding research groups, hi-tech start-ups and SMES
  • Trustable, transparent and unbiased selection of “Human centric innovators”
  • A Venture Builder Program of 12 months, including funding, technical and business mentorships
  • Access to pilots, market and further potential investment
  • An experienced Advisory Board composed by key players:
